Compliance and audit reports

Where: Compliance in the sidebar (#/compliance); Audit Reports at #/audit, reached from Download an audit report (PDF) → on Compliance.

Compliance is about proving what happened. For how well your pipeline is set up, see Maturity. The two answer different questions. SOC2 evidence comes with the SOC2 Specialist Pack, which paid plans include; see trustacks.com/pricing .

Compliance

Compliance screen with the SOC2 evidence card listing controls and event counts for the last 90 days.
Save as public/guide/compliance.png

What you see

A SOC2 evidence card for the last 90d: one row per SOC2 control that has evidence, with the control id, its title and a count of events TruStacks recorded against it. Under it:

  • Download an audit report (PDF) → opens Audit Reports.
  • Export full evidence pack →, disabled for now.

If nothing was recorded in the window: No evidence recorded in this window. Evidence accrues as the crew runs analyses, proposals, and gap analyses.

What it means

Every governed action leaves a record: an analysis run, a proposal with its policy verdict, a PR opened, a gap analysis. TruStacks maps those event kinds to the SOC2 controls they evidence (for example, change-management controls for governed proposals) and counts them.

Evidence, not a verdict. The card deliberately shows no pass, fail or “covered” marks. Evidence that a control was exercised is not the same as the control being satisfied. TruStacks reports what it observed; your auditor judges.

Audit Reports

Audit Reports form (control family SOC2, PDF, 7-day window) with the “Report download started” banner.
Save as public/guide/audit-reports.png

What you see

A form:

  • Control family: SOC2 (the only family today).
  • Format: PDF (auditor-ready) or JSON (inline preview).
  • Window start and Window end (defaults to the last 7 days).
  • Generate report.

PDF downloads a file and confirms Report download started. JSON renders a Preview of each control section on the page.

What it means

The report is generated on demand from your workspace’s recorded events for the window. The PDF response carries a SHA-256 of its content in the X-TruStacks-Content-Sha256 response header (visible in your browser’s developer tools), which you can hand to your auditor alongside the file.

What to do here

  1. Before an audit, pick the observation window your auditor asked for and generate the PDF.
  2. Use JSON to check what is in a window before you send anything.
  3. Keep running your delivery through TruStacks: evidence accrues only from governed runs.

How it connects

  • Evidence comes from runs on Applications (analyses and proposals) and Gap analyses.
  • The SOC2 specialist that comments during gap analyses is part of the same SOC2 Specialist Pack and works from the same SOC2 control families; see Gap analyses.

Beta limits

  • SOC2 only. HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP and other frameworks are coming soon.
  • The PDF is hashed, not signed. It carries a SHA-256 header, not a cosign signature.
  • No stored history. Reports are generated on demand; there is no list of past reports.
  • The full evidence-pack export is not built.
  • Once billing is live, SOC2 evidence needs a paid plan, which includes the SOC2 Specialist Pack. While billing is not enabled, it is available to every workspace.
